Chapter Three Everyone sighed and walked down the street. There was a large commotion on the other side of the street where three boys ran away from a monstrous crowd of cheering and screaming girls. “Is that the Three Lights?” Minako asked with little hearts in her eyes, “YATEN- KUN! OVER HERE!!” Minako waved her hand in the air frantically. Yaten gave her a small smile and kept running. “Who are the Three Lights?” Hime asked. “Only the most popular group in Tokyo!” Makoto responded. “Ami-chan, you’re awfully quiet.” “I’m fine,” Ami whispered in a small voice. “Are you upset because Taiki-san didn’t make a gesture towards you?” “Well...” “Ami-chan has a crush on Taiki-san!!!” Minako shouted. “Shhh, would you keep it down?” Ami shouted, but it was too late, Taiki had heard and jogged over to the girls. “So, Mizuno-kun,” Taiki said, slightly out of breath, putting a cocky look on his face, “What’s this about a crush?” Ami blushed furiously and closed her eyes, “Nothing, Taiki-san” “’Cause if it was, I was thinking that we might have to become involved.” Ami looked up, “What?” Taiki picked up Ami’s hand and swung it lightly, “would you like to come over to our apartment? There’s an exam tomorrow and I need to study.” “Sure! I’ll see you guys later!” Ami shouted. Ami walked down the street on Taiki’s arm, headed towards the three lights apartment. “Well, I guess we won’t see Ami-san for a while,” Miaka said, “hey, who’s that cute guy over there with the black pony-tail?” “Oh, that’s Seiya. He’s my best friend,” Usagi said with a distant look. Makoto and Minako pulled on her pony-tails, “Hey, what about us?!” They shouted. Usagi blushed, “Well, uh, he’s my best male acquaintance. All of you guys are my best friends!” “That’s better.” Ritsuko and Miaka suddenly started giggling. When the other girls asked what was so funny, they pointed to Sakura, who had a love-struck look on her face, with her hand extended towards Seiya. “Looks like Sakura-san has a new acquaintance,” Makoto whispered dreamily, “You know, he kind of looks like my ex boyfriend...” “We know where this is going, Mako-chan, can you just stop now?” Minako said, annoyed. “What?!” “Hi, I’m Sakura. you’re Seiya Kou-san I suppose? I hear about you from Usagi- san all of the time.” Seiya blushed a bit, “Well, yes, but just call me Seiya-kun, that’s what everyone else calls me.” “You know, you’re my favorite of the Three Lights. I’ve always wanted to meet you,” Sakura lied, never really hearing of or about the Three Lights before. “Really? Well then I guess I’ll have to get to know you better,” Seiya breathed on her neck, his lips nearly brushing it, “So, what’s your last name?” “Meiou,” She said, taking Setsuna’s last name. “Meiou, Meiou. Where have I heard that before?” “Meiou Setsuna-oni-chan.” “Oh! Are you related to her? You’re so much shorter than she is.” “Alright, I know that I’m short. I don’t need you to remind me!” Seiya chucked her chin playfully, “C’mon, lets go back to my place.” Thank you for not asking again, Sakura thought, “I think that Ami-san and Taiki- san are up there,” she said aloud. Seiya and Sakura walked down the street to Seiya’s apartment. Usagi stood on the other side of the street in dismay, “Unbelievable, taking my Seiya!” Usagi fumed. “USAGI!” everyone shouted. “You have Mamoru-san, remember?” Makoto continued. “Oh yeah! Sorry!” Hime tugged on Usagi’s sleeve, “When do I get to meet Motoki-san?” “Oh yeah, come on, let’s go!” “C’mon, let’s book it Usagi-chan!” Motoki was having fun playing the F1 racing game at the game center when Minako jumped in and popped some tokens. both of them raced intensely until Minako lapped him, beating him. “I’ll never figure out how you do it, Minako-san,” Motoki said in astonishment. “Ha!” Minako responded, “No one can beat the future of F1 racing, Aino Minako!” “Motoki-oni-san, I want you to meet one of my new friends, Hime-san,” Usagi pulled Hime, who was blushing furiously, from behind her. Motoki stopped smiling and looked at her intensely, “Hime-san,” He whispered quietly. he shook his head, “Pleased to meet you, uh, what’s your last name?” “Tsukino,” Hime lied, not having a designated family name for Earth yet. “You’re related to Usagi-chan? You two do look alike, except you’re hair isn’t up odangos.” Usagi got angry, “HOW MANY TIMES DO I HAVE TO TELL YOU NOT TO TALK ABOUT MY HAIR?!?” Motoki took a step back, “Hime-san, wanna go for a walk with me? It’s really nice outside,” Hime smiled, “Sure.” Makoto looked on with envy, “Damn her,” she whispered. “Mako-chan, you still like Motoki-san?” Minako asked. “What do you think?” Makoto snapped. Minako looked on in awe, “How did those two do it?” she asked, referring to Hime and Sakura, “They’ve never met those guys before, and they’ve got them hanging all over them!” “Um, guys, sorry to abandon you like this, but we’re going to see if we can catch up with the outers. We have some questions,” Miaka said, “We’ll see you guys later, bye!” Ritsuko and Miaka walked out of the game center and down the street a little ways. “Hey, isn’t that Yaten-san?” Ritsuko asked. “Sure is! Let’s go talk to him!” Miaka pulled Ritsuko along to the bench where Yaten was sitting, trying not to be noticed. “Hello, Yaten-san, care to talk?” “What do you want? It’s not like I don’t have other things to do. I really don’t need to be bothered by nameless people.” Yaten yawned, bored. “I just want to be friends,” Miaka said, suddenly very downcast. A tear rolled down her cheek, “Why must you always treat people like they’re not worthy of being in your presence?” she trailed off. Yaten sighed, “Look, I’m sorry,” Miaka continued crying silently, “Look, will you stop that? I’m sorry, ok?” Yaten said looking resentful. Looking almost as if it was against his will, he leaned over and kissed Miaka lightly on the lips. Miaka’s eyes opened wide and looked at the silver-haired boy. “Do you feel better now?” he asked, looking as if there was genuine concern in his eyes. He shook his head, “You taste like salt!” “Well, what do you expect?” Miaka asked, wiping her eyes. The two looked at each other intensely. “I’ll just leave you two alone,” Ritsuko said, and ran off. Yaten brushed a stray tear off of Miaka’s cheek. “Miaka-san, you are very much worth my time.” “How did you know my name?” “Let’s just say that one of your friends put in a good word for you.” Yaten leaned towards Miaka again. Miaka stood, “Well, that’s nice, but I have to go. Lots of studying to do. Wouldn’t like to end up like Usagi-san from what I’ve heard.” She walked away from the bench. “She’s going to drive me crazy,” Yaten whispered. Rei ran down the steps of the her temple and to Ami’s apartment complex. She ran up the steps and pounded on Ami’s door. Ami answered, “Rei-chan? What’s wrong?” she asked in alarm. “Tin Nyanko,” Rei panted, “Sailor Tin Nyanko, she’s back.” “Well, where is she going to show up?” Ami shouted in panic. “I don’t know, but I’m pretty sure that her and Aluminum Siren are planning more attacks.” “Rei-chan, we should gather the other senshi, this is very serious. The two of them together is definitely a dangerous thing. I’ll get the outers and the new senshi, you get the rest of the inners. We’ll meet back at your temple. Ami ran down the street where she saw Michiru following Haruka, who was walking several paces ahead. “Haruka, please talk to me! Please?” Michiru cried. Haruka continued walking. “We have to be nice to them! They’re our partners!” Haruka turned around, “How do we know that they aren’t wolves in sheep’s clothing? Can we really trust them?” “Why must you question everything, Haruka? Can’t you just trust something for once without questioning it?” Haruka turned around and resumed walking. Michiru balled her fists and started crying. Haruka flinched and softened, “Stop that! Don’t cry, Michiru, you never cry.” Haruka walked up to Michiru and rubbed her thumb along her jawline, “I’m sorry.” “Why do you always have to be so cruel, Haruka-chan? Maybe if you actually talked to them, you’d find that you liked them.” Ami cleared her throat, “Um, guys, there’s some new information that needs to be brought to attention. There’s a meeting at Rei-chan’s temple. Could you meet us there in a half hour?” “Sure,” Haruka said. Ami walked off to find the other senshi. Miaka and Ritsuko were walking leisurely down the street, conversing with each other. “He’s completely smitten with you, Miaka-chan. Why deny it?” Ritsuko asked. “But he was so mean to me! I just can’t believe that,” Miaka replied. “I saw it! The way he looked at you! It was unbelievably cute!” Ami walked up behind them, “Guys, come with me. There’s a meeting at Rei- chan’s temple, and everyone is needed. There’s information on a new enemy.” “New enemy? Someone aside from Aluminum Siren?” Miaka asked. “Evil never rests, Miaka-chan. Come on, let’s follow Ami-chan.” Ritsuko said. Motoki was walking through the park with his arm wrapped protectively around Hime. Hime rested her head on Motoki’s broad shoulder. “The sun set is so pretty, isn’t it?” Hime asked. “Mmmhmm,” Motoki replied drowsily. “Hime-san, you’re the prettiest girl that I’ve ever laid eyes on.” “Really?” Hime asked dreamily. “Well, you’re the most handsome boy that I’ve ever laid eyes on.” the two smiled at each other. Hime spotted Ami walking towards them at a fast clip. “Ami-san? What’s up?” Ami smiled at Motoki, “Motoki-san, I need to borrow Hime-chan for a while. Is that alright with you?” “Sure, just remember to bring her back!” Ami and Hime started walking away, “Hime-chan, there’s a new threat. We’re having a meeting at Rei-chan’s temple. Come on. “Sure, what’s going on?” “I’ll explain when we get there,” The two caught up with Miaka and Ritsuko. “Guys, we need to go to the Three Lights’ apartment. We need to get Sakura-san.” “I’m pretty sure that she’s still up there with Seiya-san,” Hime said. “Good. Well, let’s split up and get them. We need to find Setsuna-san also. let’s meet back here once we find everyone,” Ami directed. “Okay,” everyone said. They all went in their separate directions. Ami towards the Three Lights’ apartment and Hime to Hotaru’s house to look for Setsuna. Miaka and Ritsuko stood on the sidewalk, looking lost. Hime found Setsuna in a cafe on the way to Hotaru’s house. “Setsuna-san, how come you aren’t at Hotaru-chan’s house?” “Hotaru-chan went to the future with Small Lady when she returned. I figured that it wouldn’t hurt since they were best friends. Perhaps I’m getting more lenient,” She giggled slightly. “Oh, well, there’s a meeting at Rei-san’s shrine. There’s new information on an enemy which could cause more problems. Will I see you there?” “When?” “In about fifteen minutes,” “Of course. I’m a sailor senshi, aren’t I?” Hime smiled, “Of course.” Ami knocked on the door to the Three Lights’ apartment. Seiya answered. “Seiya-san, is Sakura-chan here?” Ami asked. “Yeah, she is. Why? Do you need her?” “What do you think?” Sakura walked up to the door, “come on, Sakura-san, I need you,” Ami tugged Sakura out of the apartment. “Bye, Seiya-kun!” Sakura said. Seiya blew a kiss, “Bye, Sakura-chan.” “Ami-san! Slow down! What’s up?” “There’s a new threat and we’re having a meeting at Rei-chan’s temple.” “Alright,” Sakura replied, now dead serious.
